Golden jubilee for telecoms in the UAE

“The telecommunications sector plays a pivotal role in linking the corners of the country, directly affecting our lives. Indeed it is the cornerstone and collarbone of the economies of countries. We owe the mammoth progress that is witnessed in that sector to the vision and foresight of the founding fathers of the Emirates, and the unlimited support of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of UAE, springing from his unwavering faith that the telecommunications sector is a pillar of promoting the distinctive status of the UAE and ensuring an ideal environment for business and progress. I would like also to extend my gratitude to HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and HH General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces,” said HE Mohamed Nasser Al Ghanim, TRA Director General.

Believing in the importance of this historical role which witnessed contributions from the UAE leadership and people, a book will be issued by the TRA to highlight the rise of telecommunications sector, shedding light on the contributions of individuals as well as entities.
