As the region moves forward with cloud computing, Systems Integration specialists and IT consultants will need to reexamine their roles. While some professionals may be nervous about the change, staying current with cloud technologies is key to maintaining revenue streams.

Gartner: MENA public cloud services to grow 23 percent in 2014

The public cloud services market in the Middle East and North Africa region (MENA) is on pace to grow 23 percent in 2014 to total $629 million, up from $511 million in 2013, according to the latest outlook by Gartner, while Software as a service (SaaS) is expected to grow 26.3 percent in 2014 to $123 million.

And it was all going so well. As vendors began to build more comprehensive cloud-based product roadmaps, Middle Eastern users were beginning to see just how cloud services can streamline their businesses. According to a Gartner report from earlier in the year, cloud adoption was due to grow monumentally in the region up to 2016. This was largely due to issues surrounding security and compliance being ironed out.
