Acer announces Q3 EMEA monitor market results

According to the analysis, the Q3 of 2010 the display market recorded a 13.4% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) growth.


In this scenario, Acer confirmed the third spot in the EMEA ranking, with a 13.1% market share and outperformed the market recording a 42.3% growth (Q310 vs. Q210).


What’s more, in Q310 Acer ranks among the first three players in 22 countries and is market leader in Germany, Russia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Pakistan and Tunisia. Acer holds the second place in Albania, Kenya and Lebanon whilst being third in Italy, France, Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Ukraine, Egypt, Nigeria and UAE.


In Europe, Acer Germany not only achieved the leadership in the market with a 14.9%, but showed an extraordinary growth of 147.1% (Q310 vs. Q210), with a 7.5 percentage point increase of its market share (Q310 vs.Q210). Remarkable results also for Russia, where Acer leads the market with a 26.5% share and during the third quarter recorded a 6.6% growth compared to the same period of previous year.


In Kazakhstan Acer climbed to the first spot in the third quarter of 2010 and registered an QoQ growth of 68.2%, that brought the company market to 28.8%. With notable results in the Bulgarian market as well, where Acer holds the top position with a 21.5% share.


During the past quarter Acer did very well also in Jordan that led to the first place and to a 41.1% market share. Acer has a strong position also in Pakistan, with a 35.8% market share and a QoQ growth of 276%.


In Tunisia, Acer leads the market with 41.0% market share, with a 4.5 percentage point increase over Q1 ’10. Acer holds the top position also in Serbia and records a YoY growth of 3.23%. Market share is 23.9% and registers a 7.3 percentage point raise over Q3 ’09.


Besides ranking in the top three positions, Acer shows a positive trend in Albania, Kenya, Lebanon, Egypt, Hungary, Nigeria, Poland. Portugal, Slovakia, UAE and Ukraine, where compared to the same quarter of 2009 the Company was able to climb several position in the ranking.

The latest data distributed by the analyst firm Context, show a growing trend of the LCD display market in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region during Q3 2010 after a fall during Q2.
