Autodesk appoints OMNIX as value-added distributor in Saudi Arabia

Autodesk, the world leader in 2D and 3D design software for the manufacturing, building, and media and entertainment markets, further strengthened its regional collaboration with OMNIX International, a leading regional technology service provider and integrator in the Middle East, after naming the latter as a value-added distributor for the entire Saudi Arabian market. The channel network expansion is a part of Autodesk’s aims to boost its share in the Kingdom’s design software market.

In line with its expanded business relation with Autodesk, OMNIX will focus on distributing, implementation and promotion of design solutions, including AutoCAD, as well as manufacturing solutions. With construction contracts in Saudi Arabia expected to increase by 15.4 per cent from USD 52 billion in 2008 to reach USD 60 billion in 2010, the company has committed to maximising the opportunities within the market by undertaking various initiatives such as educating KSA-based organisations on the benefits of Autodesk’s unique solutions in their performance and results.

“Autodesk solutions have proven, time and again, their effectiveness in helping design professionals in optimising the outcome of their collaboration to build structures that are not only efficient but are environmentally-sound as well,” said Dr. Jayant M. Deshpande, Director, CAD Division, OMNIX. “We have high expectations that our expanded partnership as value-added distributor for the Saudi Arabian market, will gain further reach for Autodesk products, especially with the expected growth of the construction market within the Kingdom in the coming years.”

The AutoCAD 2010 is a portfolio of industry specific solutions for conceptual design, drafting and detailing, which are designed to improve the output of veteran users while allowing new users to become productive more quickly. The latest software solutions feature a user-friendly interface that allows users at all levels to produce competitive design ideas and compelling presentations. Furthermore, its manufacturing solutions support and natively connect all of the disciplines involved in product development, from industrial design to mechanical and electrical engineering and manufacturing.

“After seeing their capacity to drive our presence in the eastern part of the Kingdom, we have identified the benefits of partnering with OMNIX to spill over the results they have gained to the rest of the KSA market. We are optimistic that this step will benefit many users from across the Kingdom who is in need of efficient tools to maximise their resources,” concluded Fares Abdulaziz Al Fares, Channel Manager – Saudi Arabia, Autodesk Middle East.
