QNAP launches quad-core rackmount TS-x53BU Series NAS

QNAP Systems has released the TS-x53BU series NAS (available in 4-bay, 8-bay and 12-bay models with single and redundant power supply options) that offers optimal performance and deployment flexibility with 4 Gigabit LAN ports and expandability for M.2 SSD and 10 GbE connections. The TS-x53BU features a standard 1U and 2U form factor, and is ideal for SMBs and workgroups who require stable, secure and high-performance storage.

Powered by a 14nm Intel Celeron J3455 quad-core 1.5GHz processor (burst up to 2.3 GHz), up to 8GB dual-channel DDR3L RAM, SATA 6Gb/s, and with 4 Gigabit LAN ports, the TS-x53BU series delivers up to 415 MB/s read speed and 416 MB/s read with Intel AES-NI 256-bit encryption. Additionally, the TS-x53BU-RP provides a redundant power supply to ensure optimal uptime for mission-critical applications.

The TS-x53BU comes with a PCIe slot that allows installing a QNAP QM2 M.2 SSD/10GbE LAN adapter to boost SSD caching performance and to provide 10GbE connectivity (10GbE connectivity varies by model). Coupled with QNAP Qtier auto-tiering technology (which now supports ‘On Demand Allocation Priority’), the TS-x53BU helps users make the best use of their hardware resources and storage allocation. Users can also consider installing a 10GbE/ Gigabit adapter or a USB 3.1 10Gbps adapter for diverse storage applications.

“The TS-x53BU secures data with a complete backup solution while providing high performance and expandability. The PCIe slot satisfies a variety of business demands with functional expansion options including SSD caching or 10GbE connectivity,” said Dan Lin, product manager, QNAP.

The TS-x53BU features high-capacity storage, providing an ideal solution for deploying virtualisation environments and hosting virtual machines, which greatly helps businesses curb IT server expenses. With QNAP QRM+, users can easily manage and monitor networked Windows, Linux and IPMI-compatible devices through a single platform. The QTS-Linux dual systems TS-x53BU series also allows users to develop or utilise IoT packages for Linux and display them using HDMI output.

Featuring the latest QTS 4.3 operating system, the TS-x53BU series provides a wide range of applications from the built-in App Centre: ‘IFTTT Agent’ and ‘Qfiling’ help automate user workflows for improved efficiency and productivity; ‘Qsync’ and ‘Hybrid Backup Sync’ simplifies file sharing and syncing across devices; ‘QmailAgent’ and ‘Qcontactz’ allow easier management of multiple email accounts and contact information; ‘Qsirch’ provides full-text search for fast file search; ‘QVR Pro’ integrates video surveillance features into QTS to provide users with an intelligent surveillance management system.

Rackmount form factor; Quad-core Intel Celeron J3455 1.5GHz processor (burst up to 2.3GHz), dual-channel 4GB/8GB DDR3L SODIMM RAM (user upgradable to 8GB); hot-swappable 2.5”/3.5” SATA 6Gbps HDD/SSD; 4 x Gigabit LAN ports; 1 x HDMI v1.4b (up to 4K UHD); 4 x USB 3.0 ports; 1 x PCIe Gen.2 x2 slot.

The TS-x53BU series is now available in the market.
