Samsung announces Galaxy Note7 fire causes

Following several months of investigations, Samsung Electronics today announced the cause of the Note7 incidents as two separate lithium-ion battery faults, as well as explaining measures to prevent a recurrence during a press conference held in Seoul, Korea.

Samsung has launched the 2016 edition of the Galaxy A8. The smartphone is powered by an Octacore processor with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage internal memory.

Samsung Electronics continued on top of the smartphone market in the third quarter but was battered by the impact of the Galaxy Note7 recall and increased competition in India, China and the US, according to Strategy Analytics.
