Samsung launches the SlatePC in the UAE

Samsung today announced the launch of the all new Series 7 Slate PC.

Samsung representatives described the device as combiningg the power of a desktop PC with the convenience of a Tablet.

The device that measures only 12.9 mm and weighs just 860 gms comes with an 11.6 inch High Definition WGXA display. In addition, Samsung representatives said that the Slate PC is equipped with a SuperBright Plus screen with 400nit brightness for outstanding picture quality and text legibility.

The latest Samsung product is powered by the second generation Intel Core i5 processor and 64GB Solid State Drive (SSD) to enable multitasking on-the-go and instant connectivity.

Denzil D’Souza, business head-PC Division, IT sales Group, Samsung said, “We at Samsung are very excited about the introduction of this revolutionary product that packs mobility, productivity and performance into a tablet-like machine. We also give users an opportunity to leverage three different input methods- touch, type or write on a genuine Windows 7 based interface.”

The Samsung Slate PC is provisioned with Windows 7 touch apps, a 2 megapixel front facing and a 3 megapixel rear facing camera to provision convenient conferencing capabilities. According to the company, users of the device can enjoy upto 7 hours of battery life in addition to fast boot time of 15 second and 2 second instant start.

Samsung representatives concluded that the Slate PC will be available across retail outlets in the UAE at a starting price of AED4999 beginning today.
