A10 Networks is flaunting its recently-launched Thunder Convergent Firewall at GISEC 2016.

This is “all-inclusive” security platform consolidates data centre firewall (DCFW), Gi/SGi firewall, secure Web gateway and IPsec site-to-site VPN into one solution.

The firm’s Regional Sales Director for the Middle East, Glen Ogden, is also keen to highlight a range of the firm’s other solutions. “We’ll also be showcasing our new premium Thunder Application Delivery Controllers (ADCs) and market-leading multi-vector DDoS protection solution, the Thunder Threat Protection System (TPS),” he said. “The explosion of mobile devices and apps – plus the move to SDN, NFV and cloud are set to become increasingly significant regional trends. They are driving the need for a new type of firewall that consolidates network security modules, SSL Insight, ADC and CGN in a reduced data centre footprint.”

Ogden went on to underline the importance of high-specs in firewall offerings. “The firewalls of the future need to be high performance, have built-in SSL visibility, and handle ever-increasing data traffic,” he said. “Thunder Convergent Firewall offers a converged security solution for service providers, cloud providers, and large enterprises.”

He also sees GISEC as a first-class umbrella for the most important technology trends, as well as a meeting point for first-class end-users. “While the industry will remain a buzz around Big Data, cloud, mobile, social and IoT, I fully expect security to be at the top of the priority list of most CIOs and CTOs,” he said. “GISEC provides us with the ideal platform to not only educate enterprises about these threats, but more importantly, to demonstrate how our solutions can help regional customers accelerate and secure their data centre applications and networks.”
