Citrix unveils Open Networking Program

Citrix Systems announced the availability of the NetScaler VPX virtual appliance and unveiled the Citrix Ready Open Networking Program to support it. The new program establishes a partner ecosystem to support Citrix NetScaler VPX. With the introduction of the Open Networking Program, Citrix is making it easier for ISVs, enterprises and cloud infrastructure providers to create virtual networking solutions they can integrate with partner solutions, said the vendor.

The Citrix Ready Open Networking Program establishes a partner ecosystem to support the deployment of virtualized NetScaler services into any environment. By leveraging the program, customers can build application delivery infrastructure using NetScaler VPX and integrate with partner solutions such as platform and application partners, cloud and hosting providers.

“Customer response to our NetScaler VPX solution validates our strategy to expand the market for NetScaler technology by making it available as a virtual appliance,” said Klaus Oestermann, VP and GM- NetScaler Product Group, Citrix. “The Open Networking Program is an ecosystem around which customers can build application delivery infrastructure,” he added.

The Citrix Ready program identifies solutions that are trusted to enhance the Citrix Delivery Center product family, the company's end-to-end infrastructure for application delivery. The Delivery Center includes XenApp, XenDesktop, XenServer and NetScaler, said the company. The Citrix Ready designation is awarded to third party products that meet verification criteria set by the vendor, the company said. The program incorporates 2800 partners who have demonstrated more than 9600 product verifications, the vendor added.
