The installation is being carried out by leading systems integrator, Alpha Data.
“Alpha Data will be installing the latest in Unified Communications technology at Al Wathba’s head offices. With this core technology, voice and data services will be converged for telephony, email, fax, video and instant messaging making communication far more efficient among employees and their outside contacts,” said Maher Al Abed, Senior Communications Engineer from Alpha Data. “Al Wathba is one of a number of companies who are beginning to adopt this new technology and we are delighted to have been involved in this project,” he added.
Unified Communications, part of a partnership between world leading Nortel and Microsoft, enables employees to improve their productivity and customer service even when working outside the office premises. They can answer calls, send/ receive fax messages, directly from Microsoft Outlook Contacts, Excel and Word. This solution also reduces the cost of owning and operating network by converging the business infrastructure with the underlying data network.
