Westcon Group has created Comstor Worldwide, a new global business focused on its Cisco solutions offerings—which account for greater than 50 percent of Westcon Group’s revenue. Comstor Worldwide, which builds on the multi-regional brand that Comstor has established over the last decade, will be led by longtime Comstor executives William Corbin and Jon Pritchard and will have its own dedicated management structure and its own profit and loss center.
The new Comstor Worldwide management structure enables local Comstor operations to leverage shared services and operational capabilities. In conjunction with the new organization, Westcon Group also announced that Comstor will expand its geographic coverage to include Canada and Brazil—countries in which it already has a significant presence with Westcon Convergence and Westcon Security, its two other major business practices.

In the Middle East, the Cisco distribution business of Westcon group was already consolidated under the Comstor brand for over two years now. So the present announcement only impacts markets where the consolidation wasn’t in place until now.
Steve Lockie, Managing Director for Westcon Middle East Group says, “There is no real change within the MENA region other than enhancing recognition of the global brand and global distribution contracts that we have in place. We have recently taken responsibility for Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Egypt channel development as Comstor continues to build out of rights across the region.”
In April of last year, Westcon Group was the first distributor to sign a global distribution agreement with Cisco, allowing it to streamline global transactions for channel partners. Comstor’s global solutions programs, which include OneNetwork, OneVoice, OneDefense, OneWave and OneS, are available in dozens of countries across six continents and deliver information and tools to help Cisco-oriented manufacturers and resellers become more competitive both locally and internationally.
Distributor consolidates its worldwide Cisco distribution business under the Comstor brand
