Plug-ins celebrates suppliers? 2008 success

Plug-Ins, Al-Futtaim’s multi-brand electronics and IT retailer, lauded its vendor-suppliers during its annual Supplier and Brands Awards ceremony – now in its 6th year – at InterContinental Hotel, Dubai Festival City. The awards recognises outstanding performances and the key role played by Plug-Ins’ suppliers and vendors.

The highlight of the evening was the Best Brand and the Best Supplier awards which went to LG and Jumbo Electronics respectively. Other major winners include Logicom for Best New Supplier, Mio for Best New Brand and Dubai Festival City for Best Support from Mall Management.

Probir Mukherjee, Managing Director, Al-Futtaim Electronics during his speech at the event said: “Plug-Ins which pioneered the multi-brand consumer electronics and IT retailing concept in the Middle East more than a decade ago, continues to be the retailer of choice for its loyal consumer electronics customers who now, more than ever, need strong assurances they are buying into quality products and high sales and service standards. These assurances comes from the strength of the Plug-Ins’ sustained training to its multi-lingual, multi-national sales and service task forces.”

Mukherjee also praised the long-standing relationship between Plug-Ins and its vendors-suppliers.

“Plug-Ins has maintained its market leading position as the destination of choice for consumer electronics products in the UAE. This was only possible through the tremendous support we have received over the years from our suppliers and the brands we represent. The Supplier and Brands Awards is our way of recognising the importance we place in this unique partnership,” added Mukherjee.
