The network security appliances provider, Cyberoam, has introduced a new capability – User Threat Quotient (UTQ) – to help IT security managers identify users posing security risks with ease. With UTQ, the vendor said it is extending its Layer-8 technology and turning over a new leaf in user-identity focused security. Available on Cyberoam’s Next-Generation Firewall and UTM appliances, UTQ harnesses information derived out of user’s web traffic to determine risky users that pose security and /or legal risks.

Abhilash Sonwane, SVP, Products and Technology, Cyberoam, said, “Most security teams struggle with timely detection of risk-prone user behaviour since they remain devoid of required actionable security data. User Threat Quotient (UTQ) from Cyberoam effortlessly profiles suspicious web behavior of network users, helping security teams with actionable inputs and relieving them from having to go through a labyrinth of massive logs.”

“The present situation has several security deployments and tenders insisting on a SIEM like reporting capabilities, making it difficult for resellers to seize the opportunity since security solutions fall short in enabling actionable security,” said Ravinder Janotra, Regional Sales Manager, Middle East, Cyberoam. “With UTQ, Cyberoam partners have another huge opportunity to help customers where security teams are devoid of actionable security intelligence. Unlike SIEM and other dedicated solutions for logging and reporting, Cyberoam UTQ is an on-appliance capability which extends Layer-8 identity security and simplifies security management like never before. Network security is both a dynamic and volatile business. UTQ shall enable Cyberoam resellers to fulfil demanding requirements on actionable security for critical security installations, making Cyberoam partners a perfect fit into demand supply equation for next-generation threat management and mitigation.”
